Maze Runner: The Death Cure was originally set to be
released on February 17, 2017, in the United States by 20th Century Fox, but the studio
rescheduled the film for January 26, 2018 in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D
Fifty Shades Freed
Fifty Shades Freed is an upcoming American erotic romantic drama film directed by James Foley and
written by Niall Leonard, based on the novel of same name by E. L. James. It is the final film in
the Fifty
Shades trilogy, and a sequel to Fifty Shades
of Grey (2015) and Fifty Shades
Darker (2017). The film stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan as Anastasia Steele and
Christian Grey, respectively.
Principal
photography on Fifty Shades Freed began simultaneously
with Darker on February 9, 2016, in Paris and Vancouver. It is set to be released in the
United States on February 9, 2018.
Black Panther
Black Panther is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
Produced by Marvel Studios and
distributed by Walt
Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the
eighteenth film of the Marvel
Cinematic Universe. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler from a screenplay by him
and Joe Robert Cole, and stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black
Panther alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. In Black Panther,
T'Challa returns home as king of Wakanda but finds his sovereignty
challenged by a long-time adversary in a conflict that has global consequences.
Wesley Snipes first
mentioned his intention to work on a Black Panther film in 1992, with that
project going through multiple iterations over the next decade but never coming
to fruition. A Black Panther film was announced as one of the ten films based
on Marvel comics that would be developed by Marvel Studios and distributed
by Paramount Pictures in
September 2005, with Mark Bailey hired
to write a script in January 2011. Black Panther was officially
announced in October 2014, with Boseman appearing first in Captain
America: Civil War. By the end of 2015, Cole and Coogler had both
joined Black Panther, and additional cast members came on board beginning
in May 2016. Principal photography for the film took place from January to
April 2017, at EUE/Screen Gems Studios
and Pinewood Atlanta
Studios in the Atlanta
metropolitan area, and Busan,
South Korea.
Tomb Raider (2018 film)
Tomb Raider is an upcoming American action adventure filmdirected by Roar Uthaug and written by Geneva
Robertson-Dworet and Alastair Siddons. It is based on the 2013 video
game of the same name by Crystal Dynamics, and will be a reboot of
the Tomb Raider film series. The film
tells about the first expedition of Lara Croft, in which she goes to complete
her father's research and uncover ancient secrets capable of clearing her name.
The film stars Alicia Vikander, Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu, and Dominic West.
Principal photography took place from January to June 2017
at the Warner
Bros. Studios, Leavesden in the UK and Cape Town, South
Africa. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States
in 3D and IMAX on
March 16, 2018, by Warner Bros.

Pacific Rim: Uprising
Pacific Rim Uprising is an upcoming American science fictionmonster film directed by Steven S. DeKnight and
written by DeKnight, Emily
Carmichael, Kira Snyder, and T.S. Nowlin from a story by DeKnight
and Nowlin. It is the sequel to the 2013 film Pacific Rim,
and stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, and Adria Arjona, with Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, and Rinko Kikuchi returning in their roles
from the original film. It is scheduled to be released on March 23, 2018,
by Universal Pictures.
The New Mutants (film)
The New Mutants is an upcoming American superhero–horror filmbased on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is intended to be the
eleventh installment in the X-Men film
series. The film is being directed by Josh Boone from
a screenplay by himself and Knate Lee, and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga. In The New Mutants, a
group of young mutants held
in a secret facility fight to save themselves.
Boone and Lee first began work on the film after Boone
completed work on The Fault
in Our Stars, the pair having been fans of the New Mutants growing up
together. They pitched a potential film trilogy
to X-Men producer Simon Kinberg, and in May 2015 were
officially signed on to the film. Taylor-Joy and Williams were rumored to be
cast in March 2016, and were confirmed over a year later when the rest of the
cast began to fill out and the project was revealed to be a horror film inspired by the works
of Stephen King and John Hughes.
Filming took place in Boston from July to
September 2017, primarily at Medfield State
Hospital.
The New Mutants is scheduled to be released on April
13, 2018.
Avengers: Infinity War

In Avengers: Infinity
War, the Avengers join forces with the Guardians
of the Galaxy to confront Thanos, who is trying to amass the Infinity Stones.
The film was announced in October 2014 as Avengers:
Infinity War – Part 1. The Russo brothers came on board to direct in April 2015
and by May, Markus and McFeely signed on to write the script for the film. In
July 2016, Marvel shortened the titled to Avengers: Infinity War. Filming
began in January 2017, at Pinewood
Atlanta Studios in Fayette County,
Georgia, and lasted until July 2017, shooting back-to-back with
a direct sequel.
Additional filming took place in Scotland, England, the Downtown Atlanta area and New York
City.
Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to be released in
the United States on May 4, 2018, in IMAX and 3D. The sequel is scheduled to be released
on May 3, 2019.
Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2 is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Deadpool, distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is intended to be the
twelfth installment in the X-Men film
series, and a sequel to the 2016 film Deadpool. The film is being directed
by David Leitch from
a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Ryan Reynolds starring in the title
role alongside Morena Baccarin, T. J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, Zazie Beetz, Josh Brolin, and Jack Kesy.
Plans for a sequel to Deadpool began before that
film's release, and were confirmed in February 2016. Though the original
creative team of Reynolds, Reese, Wernick, and director Tim Miller were
quickly set to return for the second film, Miller left the project in October
2016 due to creative differences with Reynolds, and was soon replaced by
Leitch. Drew Goddard had
also been in contention to direct, and joined the film to consult on the script
in early 2017. An extensive casting search to fill the role of Cable took place, with Brolin
ultimately cast in the role. Filming took place in British Columbia, Canada, from June to
October 2017. During filming, stunt woman Joi "SJ" Harris died in a
motorcycle accident.
Deadpool 2 is scheduled to be released on June 1, 2018.
The Incredibles 2
The Incredibles 2 is an upcoming American 3D computer-animatedsuperhero film, and is the direct sequel
to The Incredibles (2004).
It is in production by Pixar Animation Studios,
and will be released by Walt Disney
Pictures. It is being written and directed by Brad Bird, the writer and director of the
first film, and features Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell and Samuel L. Jackson all reprising their
roles. The film is scheduled to be released on June 15, 2018 and will be given
an IMAX release.[4][5]
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is an upcoming
American science fiction adventure film. It is a sequel to the 2015
film Jurassic Worldand
is the fifth installment in the Jurassic Park film series. Derek Connolly and Jurassic
World director Colin Trevorrow both
return as writers, with J. A. Bayona as the director. It will
be produced by Frank Marshall,
Patrick Crowley, and Belén Atienza. Trevorrow and original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg are executive
producers.
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard,
and B. D. Wong will reprise their roles
from the preceding movie Jurassic World and are joined by
newcomers Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, and James Cromwell; additionally, Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role
as Dr. Ian
Malcolm from the original film and its 1997
sequel. Universal Pictures has
scheduled the film for release in the United States on June 22, 2018.
Ant-Man and the Wasp

writing teams of Chris McKenna and
Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, and Paul Rudd, and stars Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip
"T.I." Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park, and Walton Goggins. In Ant-Man and the
Wasp, Lang teams up with van Dyne to embark on a new mission from Pym.
Talks for a sequel to Ant-Man began shortly after
the film was released, with Ant-Man and the Wasp officially announced
in October 2015, with Rudd and Lilly returning to reprise their roles. Reed
officially joined the film a month later to direct, also returning
from Ant-Man. Filming began in August 2017 at Pinewood Atlanta
Studiosin Fayette County,
Georgia, with additional filming taking place in Metro Atlanta, San Francisco and Savannah, Georgia; filming is scheduled to
last until November 2017.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is scheduled to be released on
July 6, 2018, in the United States in IMAX and 3D.
Hotel Transylvania 3 is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated fantasy-comedy film produced by Sony Pictures
Animation. Featuring the reprised roles of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, Keegan-Michael Key, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Asher Blinkoff, and Mel Brooks, it is the third installment in
the Hotel
Transylvaniafranchise and the sequel to Hotel Transylvania
2 (2015). The film is scheduled to be released on July 13,
2018, by Columbia Pictures.
Mission: Impossible 6
Mission: Impossible 6 is an upcoming American action spy filmwritten, co-produced and directed
by Christopher
McQuarrie. It is the sixth installment in the Mission:
Impossible film series and stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris all reprising their roles
from previous films, with Henry Cavill, Vanessa Kirby, Sian Brookeand Angela Bassett joining the franchise.
The film will be released on July 27, 2018, by Paramount Pictures and
will be the first film in the series to be released in 3D.
The Predator (film)
The Predator is an upcoming American science-fiction action horrorfilm directed by Shane Black and written by Black
and Fred Dekker. It is the fourth installment
in the Predator film
series, set to take place between Predator 2 (1990) and Predators (2010). Black had a
supporting role in the original 1987 Predator film,
while Joel Silver, John Davis,
and Lawrence Gordon all
return as producers from the first two installments.
The film stars Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Thomas Jane. It completed filming in June
2017, and is set to be released on August 3, 2018, by 20th Century Fox in IMAX as well as
standard formats.
Venom (2018 film)
Venom is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures and distributed
by Sony Pictures Releasing.
It is intended to be the first film in Sony's Marvel
Universe, adjunct to the Marvel
Cinematic Universe (MCU).[N 1] The film is being directed
by Ruben Fleischer,
from a script by Scott Rosenberg & Jeff Pinkner and Kelly Marcel, and stars Tom Hardy in the title role.
Development on a Venom film, a spin-off from
the Spider-Man film
franchise, first began with producer Avi Arad in 2007. After going through
various iterations, an R-rated standalone film was confirmed in March 2017. The
intention was to begin a new shared universe featuring the Marvel characters to
which Sony possessed the film rights, though Sony also intends for the film to
share the world of Spider-Man:
Homecoming, which is set in the MCU thanks to a special deal between
Sony and Marvel Studios.
Rosenberg and Pinkner were set to write, with Fleischer and Hardy added in May
2017. Filming began in October 2017, in Atlanta and New York City.
Venom is set to be released in the United States on
October 5, 2018
Untitled Fantastic Beasts sequel
The untitled Fantastic Beasts sequel is
an upcoming British-American fantasy drama film
produced by Heyday Films and
distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
It is the sequel to the 2016 film Fantastic
Beasts and Where to Find Them, based on J. K. Rowling's book
of the same name. It will serve as the second film instalment in
the Fantastic Beasts series and the tenth overall in J. K.
Rowling's Wizarding World, the franchise that began with the Harry
Potter series. The plot follows Newt Scamander and Albus
Dumbledore as they attempt to take down the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, as
they face new threats in a more divided wizarding world. The film is directed
by David Yates, with a script by Rowling, and
features an ensemble cast that
includes Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Zoë Kravitz, and Callum Turner.
Principal photography for the film began in July 2017,
at Warner
Bros. Studios, Leavesden. The untitled Fantastic
Beasts sequel is scheduled to be released on 16 November 2018, in
2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is an upcoming American superhero filmbased on Marvel Comics' X-Men characters,
distributed by 20th Century Fox.
It is intended to be the thirteenth installment in the X-Men film
series, and the beginning of a new X-Men trilogy. The film
is being written and directed by Simon Kinberg, and is set to star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. In X-Men: Dark
Phoenix, the X-Men must face the full power of
the Dark Phoenix as well as the
alien Shi'ar empire.
After X-Men: Days
of Future Past erased the events of X-Men: The Last
Stand from the series' timeline, Kinberg expressed interest in
a new, more faithful adaptation of Chris Claremont's "The Dark Phoenix
Saga" in a future film than his previous attempt with The
Last Stand, which was not well received. The new adaptation was confirmed as a
follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse in
2016. Kinberg signed on to make his directorial
debut in June 2017, when the majority of the cast was confirmed
to return from Apocalypse. Filming began later that month in Montreal, and was completed in October
2017.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is scheduled to be released on
November 2, 2018.
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is an
upcoming American 3D computer-animated comedy-adventure film that is being produced
by Walt
Disney Animation Studios. It will be the sequel to 2012's Wreck-It Ralph, and is scheduled to be
released on November 21, 2018 by Walt Disney
Pictures.
Bumblebee (film)
This is the first in the franchise to not be directed
by Michael Bay, though he will still act as
producer. It is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2018, by Paramount Pictures.
Aquaman (film)
Aquaman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is intended to be
the sixth installment in the DC Extended
Universe (DCEU). The film is being directed by James Wan, with a screenplay by Will Beall, from a story by Wan and Geoff Johns, and stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick
Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen
II, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, and Nicole Kidman. Aquaman will be the
second live action theatrical
film featuring the titular character, following his debut in 2017's Justice League.
The film tells the story of Arthur Curry, the heir
to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, who must step forward to lead his people
and to be a hero to the world.
Principal photography began on May 2, 2017 in Australia,
with most of the film shot at Village
Roadshow Studios in Gold Coast,
Queensland, and wrapped on October 21, 2017. The film is scheduled
to be released by Warner Bros.
Pictures in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on December 21, 2018.
